|Tyesley star attraction!
29 June 2015
The star attraction at the Tyseley Locomotive Works open days on the 27th & 28th June was 6201 Princess Elizabeth, overhaul virtually completed, taking part in the cavalcade operations along with 4965 Rood Ashton Hall and 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe.
6201 complete with renewed boiler cladding, looked and sounded magnificent. The stentorian Stanier hooter and basso profundo exhaust made a delightful reminder that after some further detailed attention, testing and adjustments Britain’s biggest and most impressive express steam locomotive is on its way back to main line service in Q4 2015.

6201 gleams in the sun at Tyseley on Saturday June 27th, showing the quality of restoration and renewal of the boiler cladding sheets, as she waits to start another cavalcade run. She sounded every bit as good as she looked!
