{"id":15784,"date":"2012-06-10T12:00:32","date_gmt":"2012-06-10T12:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/6201.co.uk\/?p=15784"},"modified":"2017-01-02T10:27:27","modified_gmt":"2017-01-02T10:27:27","slug":"the-thames-diamond-jubilee-pageant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/6201.co.uk\/index.php\/2012\/06\/10\/the-thames-diamond-jubilee-pageant\/","title":{"rendered":"The Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>3 June 2012<br \/>\n<\/b><br \/>\n\u2018Lizzie\u2019s\u2019 appearance before an audience of millions at the start of the Diamond Jubilee Pageant on 3 June appears to have added a new chapter to her considerable history and she has now become known as \u2018The Engine on the Bridge\u2019 to a huge number of people who had previously paid little or no attention to Steam Locomotives.<\/p>\n<span class=\"\" style=\"display:block;clear:both;height: 0px;padding-top: 20px;border-top-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;\"><\/span>\n<p>We have been overwhelmed by the compliments received since the event and were particularly gratified by the numerous congratulatory messages delivered in person by visitors to \u201cRailfest 2012\u201d at York, it seems that a number of visitors to the event were drawn specifically by the opportunity to see (and perhaps climb aboard) the footplate of the engine which had played a prominent, if brief, part in the preceding weekend\u2019s event.<\/p>\n<span class=\"\" style=\"display:block;clear:both;height: 0px;padding-top: 20px;border-top-width:0px;border-bottom-width:0px;\"><\/span>\n<p>In recording our thanks to all the well wishers and new found fans of 6201 we must include our appreciation as a Society of all the many, many people \u2013 too numerous to list &#8211; whose efforts combined to make the appearance possible in the first place.
