Progress Report
Tyseley Locomotive Works are just putting the finishing touches to the overhaul, and since our last update new safety items fitted are GSMR, OTMR and TPWS. We have been assured that the work will be completed in mid-April ready for Vehicle Acceptance Board tests to be carried out.
Though this extra work has delayed Lizzie’s mainline return somewhat, we are also awaiting some positive news on the West Coast Railways situation, as they are currently unable to operate the planned steam charter tours with our partner Steam Dreams on the mainline. We remain hopeful though that the situation will be resolved very soon, and that it won’t be too long before Lizzie completes her long awaited comeback!
